What's on the workbench?

Build a custom hardwood picture frame designed to fit and showcase your artwork, photographs or prints.

Over two hands-on sessions, you'll create either one 18" × 24" frame or two 10" × 12" frames using your choice of White Oak, Roasted Ash, Maple, Ambrosia Maple or Cherry. You'll learn the fundamentals of frame making while creating a beautiful, custom piece built to last.

All materials are included, including hardwood, museum acrylic, hanging hardware and backboard.

What You'll Learn
  • Selecting and working with different hardwood species
  • Measuring and planning a custom frame
  • Cutting accurate mitred corners
  • Frame assembly and clamping techniques
  • Installing acrylic, backing and hanging hardware
  • Sanding and finishing techniques
Workshop Details
  • Two sessions (2-3 hours each)
  • Suitable for all experience levels
  • Build one 18" × 24" frame or two 10" × 12" frames
  • Hardwood, museum acrylic, hardware and backboard included
  • Small-group instruction
  • Mat board not included, you can choose and purchase one separately if you want to give your piece an extra pop based on the display piece and size.
  • Larger sizes available upon request - please email us ahead of time if you need a specific size!

Prerequisite: Woodworking Basics: Machines is recommended but not required.

Class Sizes?

We keep classes small, 3-6 people max. More space, more attention and better vibes.

We can host your groups, but will have the same student-teacher ratio!

Booking Policy

Teens under 18 can attend with their guardians consent or with a guardian.

We kindly ask for 7 days of notice prior to class for cancellation or rescheduling. We try to be as accommodating as possible. This enables us to keep classes small and intentional.
