Turning Brick into Paint with Gizem Candan

Learn how to transform earth materials into beautiful watercolour paint, with a focus on brick. Over the course of 3 hours, you’ll explore the complete paint-making process. From processing raw materials into pigments to preparing a binder, mulling the paint, and testing your finished colour on paper.

A hands-on introduction to natural pigment and watercolour pigment making, perfect for complete beginners.

What You’ll Learn

Gathering and identifying mineral pigments in the city
Processing raw materials through grinding, levigating, and filtering
Preparing a watercolour binder and understanding ratios
Mulling pigment with a glass muller and slab
Applying and testing finished paint on watercolour paper

Paint materials, tools, and safety equipment included

Class Sizes?

We keep classes small, 3-6 people max. More space, more attention and better vibes.

We can host your groups, but will have the same student-teacher ratio!

Booking Policy

Teens under 18 can attend with their guardians consent or with a guardian.

We kindly ask for 7 days of notice prior to class for cancellation or rescheduling. We try to be as accommodating as possible. This enables us to keep classes small and intentional.
