What’s on the workbench?

Learn two traditional methods for decorating wood: chip carving and kolrosing.

You’ll practice carving geometric patterns by removing small chips of wood, then explore kolrosing, a technique similar to tattooing wood, where fine lines are cut into the surface and darkened to reveal the design.

After some practice, you’ll bring both techniques together to create a wooden bookmark, with the option to decorate each side using a different method.
